Jay Henry Winfred Diemert

Jay Diemert, 55, of Grand Forks passed away Tuesday, June 27, at his home after a brief illness. Jay Henry Winfred Diemert was born August 19, 1961, in Langdon, ND, the son of Dwight & Sonja (Stilwell) Diemert.  He grew up in Walhalla, ND, where he graduated from high school. Jay served in the US Marine Corp for 4 years prior to his honorable discharge. He married Julie (Jager) Diemert and they made their home in Grand Forks and raised a daughter, Madison. Jay worked at O’Reilly Auto Parts as a manager.  He enjoyed woodworking, making pens and RC vehicles. Jay is survived by his wife, Julie; daughter, Madison, sisters, Shannon Hansen & Cathie Stein and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Marla Jensen. **In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the family. Memorial Service: 2:00 p.m. Thursday, July 6, 2017 at Amundson Funeral Home in Grand Forks with visitation one hour prior to the service.
