Alan Joseph Arnold, a beloved husband, father, grandfather, and a talented commercial illustrator, passed away on June 15, 2025, at Altru Hospital in his hometown of Grand Forks, ND.
Alan Jospeh Arnold was born on April 7, 1946, in Grand Forks, North Dakota. One of five children born to Raymond and Inez Mae (Kreminski) Arnold. Alan grew up in Grand Forks before furthering his education in Chaska, MN. His passion for art led him to the University of Manitoba, where he earned a bachelor's degree in Commercial Illustration. He dedicated a significant portion of his career to Hyatt Productions in Minneapolis, where his artistry brought life to countless projects and inspired many.
On June 28, 2014, Alan married the love of his life, Elizabeth “Liz” Marie Kulberg, in a heartfelt ceremony at Bethel Lutheran Church. Their love story was one for the ages, marked by the joyful renewal of their wedding vows every anniversary, reflecting their commitment to each other.
Alan was also a proud veteran, having enlisted in the United States Air Force on March 15, 1966. His service is a testament to his dedication and love for his country; qualities he carried with him throughout his life.
Alan's life was filled with joy and simplicity. He had a deep appreciation for nature and loved to camp throughout Minnesota and North Dakota, especially at the serene Itasca State Park and the picturesque surroundings of Walker. Fishing at Maple Lake brought him peace, while evenings spent playing Wii Sports and relaxing at home with Liz, their canary Piper, and their beloved cat Alley highlighted the cherished moments of his life.
Alan was a devoted father to his three daughters, Angela, Ashley, and Brittany, and his son, Joseph. He took great joy in the laughter and excitement of his family, leaving a legacy of love that will continue to resonate through the lives of his eight grandchildren.
Alan is survived by his loving wife, Elizabeth; children: Joseph (Heidi) Andruski, Ashley (Jason) Anderson, Angela (Brian) Arnold Curry and Brittany (Tanner) Wisk; eight chrandcildren: Lily Andruski, Myla, Maren and Christian Anderson, Tyler and Emily Arnold Curry, Piper and Abel Wisk; and two siblings: Denise and Ray (Carol) Arnold, whose support and companionship he cherished dearly.
He was preceded in death by his parents; siblings: Bob Arnold, Steve and one stillborn brother, whose absence remains deeply felt.
