Alice “Lorraine” Dunlop passed away on May 21, 2026, under Hospice care at Maple View Memory Care in Grand Forks, ND.
Lorraine was born on October 29, 1927, the daughter of Ralph & Thelma Dipple in Grafton, ND, where she grew up and graduated from High School.
Lorraine married Donald L Dunlop on June 16, 1948, at St. James Episcopal Church in Grafton, ND. In addition to raising her three children, she was employed at JCPenney and later at the Grafton’s State Hospital until her retirement. She moved to Grand Forks in 2004 and was a member of St. Paul’s Episcopal Church and a follower of Jesus.
Lorraine was a caregiver to many, very thoughtful, giving, and talented seamstress. She loved to travel, spending summers at their South Turtle Lake cabin in Underwood, MN, and enjoyed adding to her substantial collection of turtles. She was noted for her caramel rolls.
Her greatest pleasure was spending time and playing games with her family and grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, brother Ray Dipple, and her three children: Donna Pickett, Cheryl Dunlop, and Douglas Dunlop.
Lorraine is survived by her four grandchildren, Anna Scheidecker of Brooklyn Park, MN, Abby (Rick) Byzenski of Vadnais Heights, MN, Nikolas Pickett (Mallory) of Hickson, ND, and Lane(Steven) Hayes of Bonaire, CA. Four great-grandchildren, Raegan and Jackson Pickett of Hickson, ND, Steven Jr., and Slayton Hayes of Bonaire, CA. Son-in-Law Dic Pickett of Fergus Falls, MN, and several cousins, nieces, and nephews.
A family internment will be scheduled at Gethsemane Episcopal Cathedral in Fargo, ND.
