Alyce-Mae Theresa Christiansen (Jenson) of East Grand Forks passed away on Monday, September 15, 2025, at the age of 98 at Edgewood Memory Care in Sartell, MN. She was born on July 27, 1927 in Grand Forks, ND and she grew up on the family farm near Reynolds, ND.
She was confirmed in St. Olaf Lutheran Church. She graduated from Reynolds High School. Alyce-Mae graduated from Aakers Business College in secretarial administration.
She worked as store clerk at National Tea Grocers; secretary at American Crystal Sugar Company; secretary in the AGSCO Grand Forks office and eventually became an AGSCO Field Sales Representative for many years - a pioneer woman in ag field sales. She was a farm girl through and through rising early all year long. Her farming customers loved that she would meet them in their fields at 6 am or earlier to diagnose their crops, recommend the right treatments and rates and let them put in a full day of farming.
Alyce-Mae was actively involved in Our Savior’s Lutheran Church in many capacities including serving on the Church Board, Sunday School Teacher, Confirmation Mentor, Ladies Auxiliary member famous for her potato salad, and serving communion to those unable to attend church in the area. She thoroughly enjoyed this service to others in visiting them when unfortunately, too often, few others did, while administering communion and sharing her faith.
Alyce-Mae made the best lefse, potato salad, brownies and krumkake which she generously gave to family and friends. She loved gardening, playing pinochle and watching her family play sports where she was the head cheerleader for them.
She is preceded in death by her parents Oscar and Ella Jenson, siblings Everett (Beatrice) Jenson, Russell (Ella) Jenson, Harold (Gwendolyn) Jensen and Elaine (Gordon) Thompson, husband Harvey Christiansen, partner Ron Holweger, in laws Clarence (Olga) Christiansen, Marion (Mick) Enright, Donna Weber, Glenn (Laurie) Christiansen, friends and long time close friends.
She is survived by her son Terry (Laurie) of Dellwood, MN, daughter Pam (Bob) Bergman of Sauk Centre, MN, grandsons Corey (Alissa) Bergman of Chanhassen MN, and Kyle (Julie) Bergman of Melbourne, FL, great grandchildren Kenna and Kaleb Bergman, brother in law James Weber, many Nieces and Nephews for whom she was a favorite Auntie.
The family would like to thank Good Samaritan Society in East Grand Forks and Edgewood Health Services, Sartell, MN for the care and compassion they showed Alyce-Mae in her final years and days.
We especially want to thank and praise our awesome company of cousins who supported her, visited her, ran errands for her, brought her groceries and always remembered her. All Blessings to our cousins.
