Anita Vernon

Anita L. Vernon, 86, Grand Forks, North Dakota, died Sunday, July 27, 2025 in Valley Senior Living on Columbia.

Anita Louise Freemyer, the daughter of William Andrew Freemyer and Mabel Leona (McConahay) Freemyer was born on February 7, 1939 in Nebraska City, Nebraska. She grew up and attended school in Omaha, Nebraska, then lived in California for a time before returning to Omaha, where she raised her family.

Anita was devoted to her family and spending time with them. She enjoyed music with her family who were talented musicians. She also enjoyed fashion and being well-dressed.

Anita is survived by her three children, Dean (fiancée Vanna), Bolton, Council Bluffs, IA, Phil (Theresa) Bolton, Omaha, NE, Kelli Puckett, Grand Forks, ND; granddaughter, Kailey Puckett, step-grandchildren, Victoria Puckett and Rickey Puckett; a brother, Donald Freemyer and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Dean Bolton; and siblings, Willa Marie, Estella Mabel, Bob, Ray, Bill, and Toby.

Private family services will be held. Interment will be in Memorial Park North Cemetery Columbarium.
