Ardell “Ardy” Steven Zejdlik, 75, of Grand Forks, died Sunday, December 14, 2025, surrounded by his family.
Ardell was born September 15, 1950, in Grand Forks, the son of Robert and Margaret (Vasek) Zejdlik. He grew up attending school in East Grand Forks, MN, and graduated from East Grand Forks Senior High in 1968. After high school, Ardell joined the U.S. Navy and served during the Vietnam era. After the Navy, Ardell attended Brown Institute in Minneapolis and received a degree in broadcast journalism. Throughout his career, he primarily worked in insurance and sales.
He enjoyed spending time with his family, taking summer vacations across the United States and Canada. He loved watching his son’s sporting events and musical performances from all his children. Ardell became a grandfather in 2017 and loved spending time with his granddaughter.
Ardell enjoyed history and had an extensive book collection. He was an avid fan of Fighting Sioux and Wild hockey, Twins and Yankees baseball, Vikings football, and sprint car racing. Ardell loved meeting with friends and family, and his ability to connect with people was something he was passionate about.
Ardell is survived by his children: Alisha (Josh) Garcia, Andrew Zejdlik, Thomas Zejdlik, and Caleb Zejdlik; grandchild: Amora Garcia; brothers: Curt (Jan) Zejdlik and Tim (Audrey) Zejdlik; and many cousins, nieces, and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers Marvin Zejdlik, Robert “Bob” Zejdlik Jr., Terry Zejdlik, and Darrell Zejdlik and his daughter Alanna Renee Zejdlik .
A Funeral Service will be held at 1:00pm on Friday, December 19, 2025 at Bible Baptist Church in Crookston, MN. Visitation will take place one hour prior to the service.
