Betty Jane Dahl

Betty Jane Dahl, 82, passed away on October 23rd, 2026, in Mayville ND.

Betty was Born August 12th, 1944, in Medina North Dakota Daughter to Clarence and Agnes Christensen on August 12th, 1944. Betty went to school until 8th grade in Medina. Betty married Marvin Eugene Dahl on August 12th, 1974, in Grand Forks North Dakota. She dropped out of school in the 8th grade. For her career she did babysitting and housekeeping but if ever asked she would just say housekeeping.

Betty was very interested in bingo and cleaning and spending time with the ones she loved. She also loved to shop and laugh and sit in her chair with her coffee and watch full house in her kitchen.

Betty is preceded in death by her husband, Marvin Eugene Dahl; her parents Clarence and Anges Christensen; her siblings, Crystal, Ruth, Fran, Duane, and Roy; her son-in-law, Kevin Bergland and her stepson, Bradley Dahl.

Betty is survived by her kids, Thea Bergland, and Cory Dahl; her stepdaughter Janine (Al) Leggett; her siblings, Beth, Debby, Gordon, Merry, Ardis, and Larry and her 3 grandkids, Alana, Naveya, and Lucas.

A service will be held for Betty to celebrate her life on Thursday, November 5, 2026, at 3:00pm at the VFW in East Grand Forks, MN with Chris Larson speaking at the request of Betty, long before she passed. Following the speaking of Chris, loved ones will be able to speak and share memories and afterwards there will be some of Betty's favorite food and drinks to enjoy.

The family of Betty wishes to extend our sincere thanks to the nurses and staff at Mayville's Luther Memorial Home who looked after her while she was there and made a true connection with her, rather than her just being another person to add to their roster, and a thank you to Amundson Funeral home in Grand forks for handling her cremation and helping her family to get the resources needed to put Betty to rest.
