Beverly Ann Voiss, 95, passed away peacefully on Friday, May 30, 2025, surrounded by family at Valley Senior Living in Grand Forks, ND.
Bev was born March 8, 1930, in Grand Forks, North Dakota, the daughter of David and Marie (Kranzler) Dutt. Bev is survived by her sister Eleanor Leppke, Grand Forks, ND; four grandchildren: Heidi (Mitch Opdahl) Brenna, Grand Forks, ND, Steve (Kayla) French, Dickinson, ND, Benjamin (Tiffani Helle) Dalen, Ames, IA, Nicole (Mike Olson) Dalen, Grand Forks, ND; five great-grandchildren: Leah, Megan, and Katie French, Dickinson, ND, Kari Helle, Ames, IA, and Kendal Foley, Grand Forks, ND.
Bev attended Central High School in Grand Forks and graduated in 1948. A few years later she met her future husband, Donald Voiss, and they were married in Santa Maria, California on April 20, 1951. Don and Bev made their home in Grand Forks on Belmont Road where they raised their daughter, Alana Joy.
Bev enjoyed spending time with Don and Alana in the greenhouses and working at Norby’s Department Store during those years. Sundays were always reserved for church and gathering with family for an afternoon meal. In addition to their daughter Alana, Bev and Don took on the cherished role of raising their granddaughter, Heidi Jo. Bev would chuckle that having her grandchildren around kept her young at heart. Bev later worked as a clerk at American West Insurance Company where she later retired. Never one to sit still, she remained active in retirement, working as a nanny for a very special family and later at Sam’s Club.
Bev’s love of Jesus was a constant in her life from the time she was a little girl. She participated in Bible study, the women’s Dorcas group, and volunteers with the Awana Club at Grace Baptist Church. She loved reading her bible – especially the books of Matthew and Luke.
She also enjoyed simple pleasures: driving around town to admire flowers, stopping for ice cream, and visiting with family and her cherished friends. In the spring, she loved going to the greenhouse to pick out flowers for her patio pots, walking in the yard to pick apples, and watching the farmers work in the fields. But most of all, Bev loved being with her family - no matter the occasion.
"Well done, good and faithful servant!” Matthew 25:21
Beverly was proceeded in death by her husband Donald Voiss and daughter Alana Dodge.
