Brent John Nowacki of East Grand Forks, MN, passed away on Sunday, April 5, 2026, peacefully surrounded by family in his home, after a courageous battle with cancer for several years at the age of 67.

Brent was born on February 13, 1959, to Ambrose and Marlene (Johnson) Nowacki. He attended East Grand Forks Senior High graduating in 1977 and received a degree in Construction Management from NDSU.

In 1988, Brent married Nancy (Anderson) Nowacki and together they had two children: Jeffrey and Kyle in East Grand Forks, MN. Raising and coaching both boys in baseball and basketball.

Brent worked for Concrete Sectional for many years as a Plant Manager building pipe alongside his dad, Ambrose. Later, he joined Bears Home Solutions for 14 years, filling various roles and retiring in 2025.

In 2013, he met Kathy (Selden) Nowacki. After dating for 11 years, they married on December 14, 2024. Together they enjoyed traveling the country together following sprint car racing. Some of their adventures together included trips to Knoxville, Texas, Dodge City, Kansas City, Omaha, and a honeymoon in Puerto Rico. Brent’s loving wife, Kathy, was by his side throughout his courageous fight with cancer.

His hobbies included racing, snowmobiling, basketball, and sporting events. He enjoyed summers at Rush Lake pulling the kids on tubes with his jet-ski. Brent was a handyman, who enjoyed working with his hands fixing various things and expressing his creativity. Anyone that knew Brent, knew that he had a joy for life, was kind to everyone, and they enjoyed his quirky humor and positive attitude.

He is survived by his wife, Kathy Nowacki; his mother, Marlene Melland; his children, Jeff Nowacki (Megan Masters), Kyle Nowacki (Alexandra Skime); his siblings, Todd (Amy) Nowacki, LeAnn (Mark) Donahue; his grandchildren Claire and Natalie; and many nieces and nephews.

Brent was preceded in death by his father, Ambrose Nowacki, and step mother, Irene Nowacki.

Visitation will be held from 1:00 -2:00 p.m. Monday, April 13, 2026, at Amundson Funeral Home. Memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Monday, April 13, 2026, at Amundson Funeral Home.
