Calvin (Cal) S. Lindberg 73, Grand Forks ,ND died from Parkinson’s on November 28, 2021 at home.

Cal was born on February 5, 1948 in Minneapolis, MN to Roger and Marcella Lindberg.  He graduated from Patrick Henry High School in Minneapolis, Minnesota in 1966 and from the University of Minnesota in 1970.  Cal started teaching in Thief River Falls, MN in the fall of 1970.  

Cal married Vicki Schneider on June 10, 1972 in Deephaven, MN.  After teaching in Thief River Falls for 40 years they moved to Grand Forks, ND where he substitute taught then took a para job at the Transition School and Community H.S.  His passion was teaching and he touched and changed many lives throughout his years of teaching, mentoring and counseling.  He worked summers for Orin Green and Phil Hess in Thief River Falls. He enjoyed working in his vegetable garden and then giving his produce away.  He was active in the United Methodist Church in Thief River Falls teaching Sunday school and on several boards.  Presently a member of Sharon Lutheran Church in Grand Forks.

He is survived by his wife, Vicki, son Eric (Julie) Lindberg, daughter Traci (Jason) Scribner, grandsons, Andrew, Matthew, Joshua, and Luke Scribner.  Twin brother Clint (Cheryl) Lindberg.  Sister-in-law Terry Lindberg and many other relatives.

Cal was preceded in death by a son Kirk, his parents, in-laws Don and Shirley Schneider,  brother Doug and a niece Janelle.

Cal was a devoted husband, father, father-in-law, and grandpa.  He loved taking pictures of his grandsons at their sporting events.

Arrangements have been entrusted to Amundson Funeral Home in Grand Forks.  A celebration of Cal’s life will be held at 2:00 p.m.  on Saturday, February 5, 2022  at Sharon Lutheran Church Grand Forks.  Visitation will be for one hour prior to the service in the church. 

In lieu of flowers memorials can be sent to Parkinson’s, Hospice of the Red River Valley or Sharon Lutheran Church in Grand Forks.
