Carole Eide

1933 — 2026

Grand Forks, North Dakota

Carole L. Eide, 93, passed away peacefully on May 11, 2026 at Edgewood Assisted Living home in Grand Forks , No Dak. Her 3 daughters, their spouses, and most of her grandchildren and great grandchildren were there with her before she passed, and were able to say good bye before she went to a much-anticipated reunion in heaven. She was preceded in death by her loving husband , Allen , her parents, George and Eliza (Braaten) Gunderson, her brothers George (Eileen) and Richard (Jeanette) Gunderson, and sisters Eileen (Garvin) Anderson and Miriam (Jack) Zelinski, Her niece, Janna Anderson, and granddaughters' husband, Officer Cody Holte also preceded her in death.

Carole was born and raised in Buxton, North Dakota, and after graduation attended Aakers Business College. Carole and Allen met when she was a law secretary in Grand Forks in 1954. Her roommate asked her to come along to a dance in which her (the roommate's) fiance and a friend of his would also be attending...the "friend" was Allen, and he and Carol were married 3 months later in March of 1955! During their 62 years together they remained best friends and partners for life...they had 3 daughters who she loved and adored, and chose to stay home and raise while Allen was out making a living. She loved her family and wanted nothing else but to be able to spend time with them. She hosted many family and Holiday gatherings in which mostly everyone loved and looked forward to her potato Klub ! Her life was full of activities...bowling, snowmobiling, fishing golfing, doing crossword and jigsaw puzzles, and playing cards. When they lived on the lake she enjoyed pontoon rides and paddle boating. She became an avid golfer after the girls were grown and her and Allen wintered in Florida, and then Mesa, Arizona. She won club championships and also helped Allen with the many club tournaments that they sponsored.

She loved her Grandkids and great grandkids very much and looked forward to them coming to visit. They were the light of her life and she and "papa" were happiest when the entire family could get together!

Survivors include her Daughters, Cindi (Jack) Carlson, Joan Peterson, Sandy (Tim) Christian, grandchildren Jesse (Krissi) Peterson, Molly (Brian) Burke, Mandy (Seth) Klostreich, Matt (Haley Jangula) Christian, and great grand-children Crew and Cash Peterson, Piper Burke, Gunnar Holte and Cam Klostreich along with several nieces and nephews.

A private graveside ceremony will take place at a later date at North Dakota Veterans Cemetery in Mandan, North Dakota.
