In Loving Memory of Chenghao Zhang
June 8, 1948 – June 20, 2026
Mr. Chenghao Zhang, beloved husband, father, grandfather, and friend, passed away peacefully on June 20, 2026, at the age of 78.
Born on June 8, 1948, in Tianmen City, Hubei Province, China, Chenghao dedicated his life to public service and worked faithfully for the Tianmen City Government throughout his career. He was respected for his integrity, diligence, and commitment to serving his community.
Chenghao was the devoted husband of Bihua Lu and the loving father of Xuefei Zhang and daughter-in-law Yun Ji. Following his retirement, he moved to the United States, where he found great joy and fulfillment helping to raise his grandchildren. He embraced this role wholeheartedly, becoming a constant source of love, guidance, and support for his family.
He is survived by his beloved wife, Bihua Lu; his son, Xuefei Zhang; his daughter-in-law, Yun Ji; and his four cherished grandchildren, Briley Zhang, Corey Zhang, Casey Zhang and Ethan Zhang. He also leaves behind many relatives, friends, and former colleagues who will deeply miss his warmth and kindness.
Chenghao enjoyed fishing with friends, photography, and practicing Chinese Taiji and calligraphy. He found happiness in life's simple pleasures and especially treasured time spent with family. Whether casting a line on a peaceful day, practicing Taiji with grace and discipline, or capturing special moments through his camera lens, he approached life with patience, humility, and appreciation.
Among the many memories his family will cherish is an English composition written by one of his granddaughters titled "My Favorite Old Person." In it, she described her grandfather's unconditional love, the delicious meals he prepared, and his habit of always having a camera ready to document the lives of his grandchildren. Her words reflected what everyone who knew Chenghao understood: he expressed his love not through grand gestures, but through daily acts of care, devotion, and generosity.
As a husband, he was steadfast and devoted. As a father, he was supportive and caring. As a grandfather, he was loving, patient, and endlessly proud of his grandchildren. The countless photographs he took and the memories he helped create will remain treasured gifts to his family for generations to come.
Chenghao Zhang will be remembered for his gentle spirit, selfless heart, and unwavering dedication to those he loved. His legacy lives on in the values he instilled, the family he nurtured, and the many lives he touched. Though he is no longer with us, his love remains present in the hearts of all who knew him.
Forever loved, forever remembered.
