Constance “Connie” Rae Elvira Wehe was born to Walter Jensen and June Johnson on December 30, 1940, in Grand Forks, North Dakota. She passed away peacefully at her home in Grand Forks on August 8, 2026.

She lived her entire life in Grand Forks, where she was confirmed at United Lutheran Church and graduated from Grand Forks Central High School. On May 6, 1960, Connie was united in marriage to Bob Wehe in Grand Forks. Together, they were blessed with two children, Robbi Rae and Bradley Charles.

For more than 30 years, Connie and Bob owned and operated Valley Vending servicing numerous motels, business, and employee break rooms. Most days Connie could be found in the Simplot cafeteria visiting with employees and making sure she had on hand their favorite food, candy bar or bag of chips.

Connie had a love for many things. She enjoyed car racing making an annual trip to Daytona for the Daytona 500, cheering on the Chicago Bears, and dealing blackjack at the Elks Club. She was often found watching the Game Show Network while working on a crossword puzzle. Connie enjoyed going out to eat with those close to her, and had a special place in her heart for her Ground Round family. Animals were a beloved part of her life. She had a horse named Ashia and always had a dog by her side. She spent hours watching eagle live cams and keeping up with wildlife from around the world. She even adopted an elephant and delighted in following its journey and adventures from afar. She enjoyed ceramics and created many pieces for her friends and family.

Above all, Connie took great pride in being a grandma and great-grandma. She treasured the time she spent with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren and loved keeping everyone entertained with her quick wit, strong opinions, and just the right amount of sass. She may have given you a hard time, but you always knew you were loved.

Connie is survived by her son, Brad (Marcia) Wehe; grandchildren, Kelsey (Joe) Demester, Karlee Wehe, and Matt Wehe; great-grandchildren, Henry and Will Demester; brother, Rick (Carol) Johnson; and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Bob Wehe; daughter, Robbi Rae; parents, Walter Jensen and June Johnson; sisters, Karen Warren and Raenel (Joe) Barger; and in-laws, George and Marie Wehe, sisters-in-law Dori (Art) Grundysen and Darlene Enright.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to Santa Claus Girls or to a favorite animal charity.

Memorial services will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Thursday, August 13, 2026, at Amundson Funeral Home in Grand Forks, with visitation one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. Interment will follow at Calvary North Cemetery in Grand Forks.
