Debra “Deb” Mae Wiseman, age 71, of Grand Forks, passed away peacefully at her home in the morning hours of Sunday, May 4, 2025.
Deb was born on January 17, 1954, in Devil’s Lake, North Dakota to Olive and Clarence Wiseman of Lakota. Deb attended school and graduated from high school in Grand Forks. Deb was confirmed in the Catholic Church and remained very religious throughout her life. She went to church every Sunday and watched church on TV if she could not attend in person. Deb was very family oriented and appreciated playing Monopoly with her family and spoiling her nieces by taking them to the store and getting goodies. She liked the outdoors and would often talk about all of the flowers and trees in her mother’s garden. In her younger years, she also liked to ride bicycles and go swimming at the pool. A life-long fan of music and Westerns, you would find Deb often singing Christmas hymns, listening to Elvis Presley, and watching Gun Smoke.
Deb worked various jobs through REM in Grand Forks and participated in the Special Olympics.
Deb is survived by her brother, Everett Wiseman of Lakota, ND; sisters, Rita Mikkelson of Mandan, ND, and Renae Olson of Phillipsburg, MT; 5 nieces, 1 nephew, and numerous great-nieces and 1 great-nephew; and dear friend, Rosie Branaman. Deb was preceded in death by her parents, Olive and Clarence Wiseman.
Services will be held at a later date.
In lieu of memorials, the family is asking that you plant a tree or tulips in Debra’s honor.
