Donna M. Voiss, 86, Grand Forks, North Dakota, died Thursday, November 27, 2025 in her home.
Donna Marie Lickteig, the daughter of Donald and Agnes Vivian (Everson) Lickteig, was born in Grand Forks, North Dakota on July 2, 1939.
She grew up in East Grand Forks, Minnesota, attending Sacred Hearth Catholic School and graduating from East Grand Forks High School in 1957. While in high school she met Jerry, in an alley—a chance meeting that became the beginning of a lifelong love. Donna married Gerald L. “Jerry” Voiss on July 23, 1960. When Jerry entered the Air Force, she moved to Yankton, South Dakota, where she completed her nursing training. Over the years she worked at the Elks and Northstar as a waitress and enjoyed selling Vanda Cosmetics and Tupperware. She was an avid reader, and she loved the fun and excitement of slot machines and playing bingo. She had a love for gardening, crocheting and other crafts, and especially cherished making lefsa and canning with her husband. Her final job was serving meals to Seniors at the Homestead Site through the Grand Forks Senior Center, a role she truly enjoyed. Above all, her greatest joy and most beloved calling was being a homemaker—caring for her family and the dogs she adored.
Donna is survived by her children, Shelly (Davis) Hamilton, East Grand Forks, MN, Robert Voiss and Bradley Voiss, both of Grand Forks, ND, and Cheryl Randel, East Grand Forks, MN; 9 grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren; many nieces and nephews; and “Charlee”, her teacup Yorkie.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Gerald, and a sister, Cheryl Diane Carl, and “Gaby”, her bichon poodle.
Funeral Services will be at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, December 4, 2025 in Gospel Outreach Church, Grand Forks. Visitation will be for one hour prior to the service in the church. Interment will be in Memorial Park South Cemetery, Grand Forks.
