Eleanor R. Tveit, age 91, resident of Grand Forks, ND, died on June 1, 2026, at Valley Senior Living on 42nd.

Eleanor Ruth Tveit was born in Grand Forks, ND, on September 11, 1934, to Andrew and Annie (Omlid) Tveit. Eleanor’s early years were shaped in the community she loved so dearly. She attended school in Grand Forks and proudly graduated from Central High School in 1952. Her dedication to service and skill quickly became evident when, following graduation, she was immediately hired by the Grand Forks Clinic as a medical secretary. For over four decades, Eleanor’s expertise and steadfast work ethic stood as a testament to her character. From the rhythmic tap of typewriters in earlier days to the vibrant glow of computer screens in later years, she gracefully adapted to the changing times. Many doctors sought her out for her reliability and precision.

Eleanor’s true essence was not only found in her career but also in the tender love she shared with those closest to her. She was inseparable from her dear sister, Alice, with whom she spent countless precious moments. Their bond was a beacon of warmth and companionship, reflecting Eleanor’s deeply caring nature. Outside of family, she found joy in attending countless bible studies, celebrating weddings, and witnessing baptisms—moments that enriched her spiritual life and connected her to her wider community.

Eleanor lived her days with a remarkable blend of gentleness and unwavering kindness, leaving a legacy of warmth that touched all who knew her. Her presence was a blessing that brought comfort and joy, and her memory will forever remain entwined with the hearts of those she loved.

She is survived by her cousins, Joy Bostrom, Art Wardner, Chris Flaat, Steve Flaat, David Flaat, Dan Flaat and Susan Lambie.

She was preceded in death by her parents and sister, Alice Tveit.

A Funeral Service will be held on June 8, 2026, at 2:00 PM at the Havig-Heen Auditorium Chapel at Valley Senior Living on 42nd, located at 4000 24th Avenue South, Grand Forks, ND 58201. Visitation will take place one hour prior to the service. A private burial will take place at Memorial Park North Cemetery.

Eleanor’s passing leaves a profound void, yet the echoes of her warm spirit and dedicated life continue to inspire all who were blessed to know her. As we gather to celebrate her life, we honor a woman whose gentle strength and caring soul were so deeply woven into the fabric of her community and family.
