Evelyn M. Kovarik

Evelyn May Kovarik, 75, Grand Forks, ND passed away Monday, December 25, 2023 at Altru Hospital of Grand Forks.

Evelyn was born August 13, 1948 in rural Lawton, ND, the youngest daughter of Albert George and Annie (Shore) Kovarik. She attended country schools and graduated from Walsh County Agricultural School in Park River, ND. She also attended Aaker’s Business College in Grand Forks.

Evelyn helped her parents with their farm for more than 35 years. During that time, she also worked for 10 years as a housekeeper at the Delta Gama Sorority house at UND, The Select Inn, AMS, Hugo’s, and McDonalds.

What Evelyn enjoyed best was reading the Bible, singing or humming at work, dancing, meeting new people, and playing with her dogs. She also enjoyed cooking and baking.

Survivors include her two sisters, Mary Ann Lundquist, and RoseMarie Helmoski; niece, Debbie (Helmoski) Sanden; and nephew Samuel Helmoski.

Evelyn was preceded in death by her parents and by a nephew, Timothy Helmoski.

Funeral services will be 11:00 AM Wednesday, January 3, 2024 at Amundson Funeral Home, Grand Forks. Public visitation will begin at 10:15 PM and will continue until the time of the funeral service. Burial will be in Saints Peter and Paul Cemetery, Bechyne, ND.
