George A. Gladue, 99, Grand Forks, ND died Monday, April 24, 2023 in Valley Senior Living on Columbia, Grand Forks.

George Alexander Gladue was born in Neche, ND to Alexander Gladue and Maggie (McLaughlin) Gladue on January 2, 1924. He was one of six children in that family.

George married Erna Steinke on July 9, 1952 in Neche. They were married for almost 63 years before she passed away on July 8, 2015. George and Erna did not have any children of their own, but enjoyed their nieces and nephews at the family gatherings.

They moved to the Grand Forks area in the mid 1950’s. George started working for Albert Drees in 1965 and continued working full time for the Drees family until his retirement in 1990, then part time as long as he was able. He lived in Merrifield, ND until he and Erna moved to Grand Forks in about 2010.

George is survived by his many nieces and nephews and grand nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Erna; his brothers, Joseph and Kenneth; and his sisters, Florence, Marguerite, and Flossie.

Funeral services will be 11:00 AM Monday, May 1, 2023 at Amundson Funeral Home of Grand Forks. Visitation will be for the hour before the service in the funeral home. Burial will be in Neche, ND.
