Glen A. Prather

Glen Prather, 73 of Grand Forks, North Dakota died Friday, June 2, 2023, at his home surrounded by his loving family under the care of hospice.

Glen was born on December 10, 1949, the son of Berlin and Betty (Lee) Prather in Grand Forks, North Dakota. He was raised and educated in Grand Forks, graduating from Central High School. Glen attended college receiving an associate degree in accounting. After college he enlisted in the United States Air Force. Glen was united in marriage to Merry Swenson on June 18, 1982, in Grand Forks. They made their home in Grand Forks. Glen worked for Gamble Robinson Foods and RDO Foods until his retirement in 2012.

Glen enjoyed hunting, watching baseball, especially the Chicago Cubs and the Atlanta Braves. He also enjoyed time spent with his family and his grandchildren.

Glen is survived by his loving wife, Merry Prather; sons, Martin Prather, Mike (Heather) Prather and Jesse (Elizabeth) Prather; stepsons, Jason (Amanda) Honkola and Adam (Roxie) Honkola; eight grandchildren; sister, Loretta Prather and best friend of fifty-six years, John Nordine; numerous nieces and nephews.

Glen was preceded in death by his parents.

Glen’s family would like to give a heartfelt thank you to the Altru Cancer Center and Hospice of the Red River Valley for their care and support.

A family directed Celebration of Life for Glen will be held on Thursday, June 8, 2023, from 4:00 – 7:00 p.m. at the VFW Post 3817, East Grand Forks, MN.
