Harold was born the son of Harold R. and Patti (Bollin) Eisenbarth, on September 5, 1963, in Oakland, California. His father enlisted in the Navy in California. Harold received his nickname “Butch” from his grandmother, Viola, as she stated, “He may be Harold to you, but he will always be Butch to me.” Harold always added to this, that grandma thought there were too many Harold’s in the family. Harold attended school at Vero High School, Vero Beach, Florida. After graduation he enlisted in the United States Navy. He served as an aircraft mechanic where he had the privilege to serve on the maiden voyage of the USS Carl Vinson CVN-70. He was a proud Plankowner and a Golden Shellback after crossing the equator and date line. Harold was united in marriage to Belinda Wright. To this union a son was born, Kristopher. Following his honorable discharge, he worked various jobs until years later, he met Laurie on spring break. They were united in marriage. She convinced him to move to Grand Forks, ND, then to Thief River Falls, MN where he enrolled at Northland Technical College, majoring in Broadcasting. Harold held positions in broadcasting for several radio stations including KTRF of Thief River Falls, MN and KNOX of Grand Forks, ND. He was known on air as Thomas Sawyer. He also worked at Polaris, Walmart and he worked as a brick mason for his father. When returning to North Dakota, he held positions at Krabbenhoft’s, Menards and most recently worked as a cement mason for Wells Concrete. On January 20th, 1994, in Roseau, MN, Harold became a father to Harold Dylan Eisenbarth. On September 10, 1999, Harold was united in marriage to Tonya Ashfield. To this union, two children were born, Sawyer and McKenzy. Harold enjoyed singing karaoke with his friends. He loved the history of music, and he enjoyed listening to most genres with country and rock being his favorite. He was an avid fan of the Minnesota Vikings. He participated in leadership roles among many Facebook community pages including the Minnesota Vikings and his hometown, Sebastian, Florida. He was very interested in politics and loved to debate the latest issues. He was an avid animal lover as well. Through the years, he had several dogs that he loved and enjoyed training. He enjoyed spending time with family, friends and his pet cat, Lou. Harold is survived by his children Harold Dylan Eisenbarth of Newfolden, MN; Sawyer Thomas Eisenbarth of Seminole, OK; McKenzy Ellen Eisenbarth of Northwood, ND; Kristopher (Stephanie) Wright of Tucson, Az; grandchildren; Blakeliana Eisenbarth, Alayna Eisenbarth, Lilly, Rowan, Abigail and Wesley Wright. Parents; Harold R. and Patti Eisenbarth of Sebastian, Fl., brother, Thomas Eisenbarth of Melbourne, FL; aunt: Lynn Amatore, uncle: Thom Bollin cousins; Danielle (Dave) Newcomer, Tina Amatore, Michael Amatore, Scott Bollin and Patrick Bollin Harold was preceded in death by his grandparents Jack and Viola (Flaming) Bollin and Harold F. and Winifred Eisenbarth. Memorial Service will be held on Friday, January 12, 2024, at Amundson Funeral Home, Grand Forks, ND at 10:00 a.m. Interment will follow at the Emmanuel Lutheran Free (Ringbo) Church Cemetery, in Holt township, MN.
