Janet "Jan" Noblin

Janet “Jan" Noblin, 80 of East Grand Forks, Minnesota died Friday, November 14, 2025, at her home.

Jan was born on December 1, 1944, the daughter of Carl and Olive (Berg) Solseng in Grand Forks, North Dakota. She was raised in Logan Center, North Dakota and attended school there through 10th grade and graduated from Larimore High School in 1962. Jan attended Sisters of St. Joseph School of Nursing – North Dakota and received her nursing certificate. She later received her Bachelor of Science in nursing from College of St. Francis, Joliet, IL.

Jan was united in marriage to Bobby Noblin on January 7, 1967, at Bethel Lutheran Church, Larimore, North Dakota. Their son John, was born in Grand Forks in 1969. Due to Bobby’s career in the military, they made their home in Massachusetts for a few years before returning to Grand Forks in 1977. Jan worked as a nurse at United Hospital and Altru Hospital until her retirement in 2017.

Jan and Bobby hosted many foreign exchange students over the years. She loved to entertain family and friends. Her family and friends called her “Aunt Jan”. Jan always had a hot cup of coffee and a cookie ready for anyone that stopped by to visit. She enjoyed working in the yard, tending to her flower gardens, crossword puzzles, playing cards, especially with her sister, Betty, every Sunday night. Jan was a great story teller, very good cook and baker.

Jan is survived by her son, John Noblin; brother, Mark (Jane) Solseng; sister, Betty (Wayne) Reinhart; numerous nieces and nephews.

Jan was preceded in death by her parents and husband, Bobby (2018).

Memorials in Jan’s memory may be given to Altru Cancer Center or the charity of your choice.

Visitation will be held from 10:00 – 11:00 a.m. Thursday, November 20, 2025, at Calvary Lutheran Church, Grand Forks, ND.
