Jean Rae Johnson, 84, of San Antonio, Texas entered eternal life on February 15th, 2026. Born November 29th, 1941, in Grand Forks, North Dakota to Woodrow and Marjorie Davidson, she was the eldest of two daughters.
Jean graduated from Larimore High School and the University of North Dakota and dedicated her life to the field of education. Happy to say her greatest achievement was helping children learn to read, she lives on as the teacher in George Strait's music video, "Check Yes or No," as well as within the countless number of students whose lives she impacted.
Jean had a passion and gift for music, serving as pianist and organist for several church congregations and gatherings including Bible Study Fellowship. She was blessed to be part of many baptisms, christenings, first communions, weddings, holidays, memorials, and dedication ceremonies.
An avid reader and lover of books, Jean's favorite topics of study included books about the prairie, the Bible, Abraham Lincoln, and especially, the poetry of Robert Frost. Her favorite quote was, "Love is Eternal."
She is preceded in death by her parents, aunties and uncles, and several cousins.
She leaves behind, to cherish her memory, her loving husband Lyle Johnson (Tx); daughter Wendy Reeves (Tx); sister Tavia Swank (Mo); sister-in-law Judy Johnson (Tx); nieces, cousins, friends, neighbors, and brothers-and-sisters-in-Christ.
