Jeanne Mondor, 71, of Grand Forks, ND, passed away peacefully on September 25, 2025, surrounded by the love of her family. Born February 9, 1954, in Holly, Michigan, to Daniel J. and Betty Dumas, Jeanne grew up in a large, close-knit family that shaped her values of love, strength, and resilience.

Jeanne devoted her life to caring for others. Whether running her home daycare, managing or owning her own restaurant, she poured her energy into serving and supporting people. She was admired for her work ethic, selflessness, and unwavering devotion to those she loved.

Family was Jeanne’s greatest joy. She was the proud mother of Daniel (Coiya) Inman, Shelly (Paul) Radke, and Jennifer (Keith) Risberg, and stepmother to Jay (Terrie) Mondor, Laurie Mondor and the late Renae Mondor. She cherished watching her family grow and delighted in being “Grandma” and “Great Grandma” to many. Her legacy lives on in her grandchildren — Kristin (Colby) Joyner, Michael Salsbery, Daniel Inman Jr., Mckenzie Lynne (Shane Johnson), Tyler Risberg, Rebecca Risberg, Joey Risberg, Kinnleigh Risberg, Thomas Radke, Miranda Radke, Chace Amundson, Brianne Thompson, Mark (Simone) Mondor, Mary (Cody) Snow, and Brittney (Brad) McClellan — and her great-grandchildren, Landon, Brynlie, Scarlett, Bria, Logan, Alyce, Carter, Sadie, Trey, Freya, Odin, Lincoln, Mercedes, Brantlee, Sawyer, Layla, Hunter, Mia, Liv, Cade, Hadley, Aaliyah, Amiyah, and many more who brought light to her later years.

Jeanne was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Joseph Mondor II, with whom she shared a love of trucking and fishing, laughter, and partnership; siblings John, Vern, Allen, and Keith; her stepdaughter Renae Mondor; and grandson Justin Mondor. She is survived by her sister, Bev Ennes; sisters-in-law Cathy Dumas-Johnson, Linda Dumas-Hiles, Brenda Dumas, and Carolyn Dumas; many nieces and nephews; and her loving companion since 2012, musician Fred Seidl, who filled her days with music and joy.

A true country soul, Jeanne loved music, especially Elvis just like her Mom, dancing, fishing, and the company of children — her own and countless others whose lives she touched. She had a gift for giving quietly and wholeheartedly, often putting others before herself. Her warmth and generosity left an indelible mark on all who knew her.

A celebration of Jeanne’s life will be held at Amundson Funeral Home on Monday, September 29, with visitation at 1:00 p.m. and services at 2:00 p.m., followed by burial at St. Boniface Catholic Cemetery in Walhalla, ND.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to Valley Senior Living in memory of Jeanne, whose team cared for Jeanne and her family, like their own.
