Jeannette "Mim" Mae Weiler

May 31, 1942 — May 16, 2025

With heavy heart and profound gratitude, we celebrate the life of Jeannette "Mim" Weiler, 83 of Grand Forks, North Dakota. Her unwavering strength and boundless love shaped the foundation of her family. She passed away peacefully on Friday, May 16, 2025, in her home surrounded by those she cherished most.

Jeannette was born on May 3, 1942, the daughter of Dominick and Emma (Brunelle) DeMontigny in Belcourt, North Dakota. She was raised and educated in Belcourt. Jeannette was united in marriage to William Weiler in 1958. They moved to Chicago and Jeannette attended Pivot Point International Beauty School. She became a beautician in Wilmette, Illinois and eventually purchased the salon. Jeannette operated Jeannette’s Salon for many years until her retirement in 1987.

They moved to Grand Forks in 1992 to be with family. Unfortunately, William passed away in 1995. Jeannette was active at St. Michael’s Catholic Church for many years and served as a eucharistic minister. She also volunteered for Meals on Wheels. Her hobbies included playing cards, fishing, cooking, dancing, reading, and attending every event for her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.

She was more than a mother, grandmother, sister, or friend- she was the heart of our home, the steady hand in every storm, and the quiet force that held us all together. Her love was fierce and unconditional and her wisdom was deep and enduring. She taught us the meaning of resilience, the power of kindness, and the beauty of a life lived in service to others. Her embrace was our sanctuary.

Jeannette is survived by her daughter, April Weiler; son, Randy Weiler; three grandchildren, Heather (Brooks) Binstock, Emily Sullivan and Jonathan Weiler; great grandchildren, Kane and Owen Teigen, Blaise and Layla Binstock, Jordan (Tatiana) and Trevor Binstock, Jordyn Hjeldness, Hayle Gracy; great great grandchildren, Scarlet Waechter, Braden and Noah Gracy, and Akira Pathak; sister-in-law, Myra DeMontigny; and several nieces and nephews.

Jeannette was preceded in death by her parents, husband, William, stepfather, William Holweger, brothers, Clark DeMontigny and Todd Holweger and sister, Scarlet Ryder.

She gave selflessly, loved endlessly, and lived with grace and dignity. Though she may no longer walk beside us, her spirit lives on in every act of love, every shared memory, and every life she touched. We will carry her light forward, honoring her by living with the same courage, compassion, and strength that she so effortlessly embodied.
