Jeffrey Norman Hussey, 73, of Grand Forks, ND, died Saturday, May 28, 2022 in Mahnomen, MN.

He was born July 16, 1948 in Grand Forks, ND.  On March 28, 1988 he married Shirley Grande.  He worked as an engineer for the City of Grand Forks and a purchasing agent for Lystads (Ecolab).  In 1995 he started Hussey Landscaping and was know to many as the “Sod King”.  He continued to work up until the day of his death.

Jeff had a huge impact on his family, friends, and community. He was a positive man with a huge smile that would warm your heart and light up a room. In the winter months you would find him at the gym working out, visiting, and making new friends or throwing on a pair of skates to play hockey with the boys.  Come summer you’d find him on his tractor, sun up to sun down, leveling, seeding and sodding or at the park with his grandkids.  He was a kind soul with a heart of gold and will be deeply missed by all who knew him.

He is survived by his wife Shirley;  children, Jamie Hussey, Travis (Tara) Hussey, Danette (Mark) Strom, and Rusty (Kristi) Petersen;  grandchildren, Kallie (Bill) Makenzie, Madisyn, Lauren (Dalton), Bryer; great-grandchildren, Layla, Peyton, Paisley, Rhett, Huntlee, Hudson, and Emberly;  sisters, Myrna Parker, Cynthia Milligan, and Cheryle Bergland;  a brother, Tim Hussey;  many nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be from 11:00 a.m to 1:00 pm. on Friday, June 3, 2022 with a Time of Sharing of Memories at 1:00 p.m. in Amundson Funeral Home, 2975 S. 42^nd St., Grand Forks.
