Jennifer L. Austin

Jennifer L. Austin, age 45, of Grand Forks, died Wednesday, June 18, 2025, at the Altru Hospital in Grand Forks, North Dakota, after a 14-month battle with stage 4 lung cancer.

Jennifer Lynn Goulet was born July 5, 1979, in Crookston, Minnesota, to Joseph Goulet Sr. and Jane (Borslien) Kennedy. She attended school in Crookston. Jennie dedicated her working career to serving and caring for people. She worked as a certified nursing assistant at and in food service, but her favorite role was at the Stanley Hotel in Estes Park, Colorado, where she was the head of housekeeping for 4 years. On March 3, 2013, Jennie was united in marriage to Anthony Austin in Las Vegas. Together, they moved around before they settled in Grand Forks.

Jennie enjoyed spending time in nature, whether it was simple walks or hiking in the mountains. She loved being together with her husband and family in simple moments, playing card games, and collecting Betty Boop mementos.

Jennie is survived by her husband, Anthony Austin; mother, Jane Kennedy; sons, Ethan, Dakota, Preston, and Waylon; two grandchildren; sister, Jolena (Arden) Gronhord; brother, Josh Goulet; several half-siblings; and many nieces, nephews, and other family and friends.

She was preceded in death by her father, Joseph Goulet Sr.; half-brother, Trinity; stepfathers, Russell (Doc) Killcrece and Dale Kennedy; and many aunts and uncles.
