JoEllyn Gladys Heron

JoEllyn Gladys (Clow) Heron, 71, passed away peacefully on Sunday, February 20, 2022, at Altru Hospital in Grand Forks, ND.  She was born August 30, 1950, in Hallock, MN, to Willie and Gladys (Giffen) Clow.  JoEllyn (Joey) grew up and attended school in St. Vincent & Humboldt, MN graduating from high school in 1968. 

Joey was a loving mother & homemaker, and married Norman Heron in Pembina, ND on May 26, 1989.  She worked for Norman Jensen Custom Brokerage, and later at the Pembina Post Office, retiring in 2007.  They lived in Pembina until Norm’s retirement in 2008.  After retiring, they moved to Lakeville, MN and then to Grand Forks, ND in 2011.

She enjoyed music, traveling, celebrating birthdays, quilting, baking, participating in Bible Study at Hope Church, and attending the grandkids’ activities.  Joey had a huge heart and it showed in everything she did; her loving personality was contagious to everyone she met.  The simplest pleasures in life brought great joy to Joey.  She treasured her children, grandchildren, friends, and family and embraced every moment with them. 

Her life was a living example of her faith and favorite Bible verse, “May the words of my mouth and the meditation of my heart be pleasing in your sight, O Lord, my Rock and my Redeemer.” (Psalm 19:14)

JoEllyn will be forever loved and missed by her husband, Norman Heron, Grand Forks, ND; sons, Brent Grube (Highlands Ranch, CO), and Jeremy (Karissa) Grube (Grand Forks, ND); four adored grandchildren, Trey Grube, Liesel Grube, Jaya Grube, Karsyn Grube; sisters, Judy Spearn (Phoenix, AZ), Jane Mollison (Boulder City, NV), Janet (Steve) Brown (Toronto, ON); brothers, Rick (Janie) Clow (Grand Forks, ND), Randy (Colleen) Clow (Oxbow, SK); and sister-in-law, Ranelle Clow (Rapid City, SD).

She was preceded in death by her parents, Willie and Gladys Clow; and a brother, Ron Clow.
