Judy A. Martinson, 83, West Fargo, ND and formerly of Emerado, ND, passed away Monday, November 1, 2021 in Fargo.

Judith Ann Bergsrud was born July 23, 1938 in Emerado, the daughter of Willard and Edith (King) Bergsrud. She was raised in Emerado and graduated from Emerado High School. Judy moved to Grand Forks to attend Aaker’s Business College where she studied accounting and shorthand writing.

Judy married Allen Rheaume on October 25, 1956 in Larimore. Due to Allen’s military service, the couple lived in several places before returning to Larimore. Allen passed away in December of 1964.

Judy worked for Sand Steel Building Co. and later for Valley Bag Co. for many years until her retirement in 2007. She married Wendell Martinson on June 9, 1972 and he passed away on October 2, 2018.

Judy loved being with her family. She and Wendell loved hosting gatherings at their farm. In addition to gardening and canning, she was an excellent cook. She also enjoyed ceramics and playing cards, whether it was solitaire at her kitchen table or on her iPad, or with her with friends at New Perspectives. She was an active member of Emerado Presbyterian Church for many years, and kept in touch with many from her church family even after moving to Fargo.  

Survivors include her children, Craig (Nicole) Rheaume, West Fargo, ND, Lindsey (Cindy) Rheaume, Manakin Sabot, VA, and Minda (Jason) Villiard, Fargo, ND; grandchildren, Kyle Rheaume (Jessica), Spicer, MN, Luke Rheaume, Quentin Rheaume, Colton Rheaume, all of West Fargo, Alexandra (Matt) Shankle, Richmond, VA, Hunter (Jenn Bipes) Rheaume, Alexandria, VA, Bryce Villiard, Fargo, ND; great grandchildren, Caiden Rheaume, Everly Shankle and Holden Shankle; siblings, Deane (Ken) Bergsrud, Arlington, VA and Bonnie (Clyde) Harper, Carrollton, VA.

Judy was preceded in death by her husbands, Allen and Wendell; and by two infant siblings, Marlys and Jerry.

Memorial services will be 11:30 AM Saturday, November 6, 2021 at Amundson Funeral Home of Grand Forks, ND. Visitation will be for the hour before the service in the funeral home. Burial will be in Memorial Park South Cemetery, Grand Forks. Memorials are requested to the Yoke Parish, Larimore, ND or to Sanford Health Hospice House.
