Juel Storstad

On April 25, 2026, Juel Storstad, loving husband and dad, passed on to glory at the age of 90 years old with his family by his side at Altru Hospital.

Juel was born March 4, 1936, the son of Arthur and Ellen (Kundson) Storstad. He lived his whole life in rural Manvel.

In 1954, Juel graduated from Manvel High School. He was valedictorian of his class. Juel started farming with his dad while in high school. In 1954, he bought his first quarter of land from his grandmother Storstad and became a full partner with his dad.

On November 4, 1967, Juel married Mary Louise Blair at Middle Grove Church. They continued farming in the Manvel area. On December 24, 1975, they were blessed with the birth of their son Randy.

Juel had to retire from farming because of arthritis but continued to live on the farm that he loved so much. Juel loved western history and read many books of the great west. Juel, Mary and Randy traveled to many historical places, mostly in the western states.

Juel loved the great outdoors and hunted in Montana. He also loved spending time with his best friend Randy. They enjoyed collecting anything John Deere and went to many auctions to seek treasures.

Juel is survived by his wife of 58 years, Mary, son Randy, 2 sisters: Jan Sykes, Elaine Neimeyer, both of Grand Forks; brother Keith (Linda) of Manvel, and many nieces and nephews.

He is preceded in death by his parents, brother Kenneth, 2 sisters: baby Carol Storstad and Carolyn Storstad, brothers-in-law Wayne Sykes, Gene Neimeyer, Jim Blair, 2 nieces: Laurie Hogenson, Diane Brown; 2 nephews: David Storstad and Chris Tinjum.

Funeral Service will be held Friday, May 1, 2026 @ 2:00 p.m. at Middle Grove Church, rural Manvel.
Visitation will be held 1 hour prior to the start of the service.
Burial will be held in Middle Grove Cemetery.
