June E. Haugen, 87, Gilby, North Dakota, died Saturday, September 7, 2024 in Altru Hospital, Grand Forks.
June Evangeline Collier was born at Gilby, North Dakota to Edward and Evelyn (Lee) Collier on January 8, 1937. She taught school for one year and worked in the Twin Cities for three years before returning to Honeyford. She married Orvis Haugen on March 11, 1961 at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church at Honeyford, ND. She was employed at the grocery store in Gilby, McKay Implement in Gilby, and later by Home of Economy in Grand Forks until she retired.
She is survived by her husband, Orvis; children, Julie Haugen (Mark), Jena Bury (Robert), Stewart Haugen (Lisa), and Jodi Haugen; grandchildren, Rae, Jarrod, Elizabeth, and Oscar.
She was preceded in death by her parents, and three siblings, Ernie, Alan, and Francis.
Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. on Friday, September 20, 2024 in Amundson Funeral Home, Grand Forks. Memorial Services will be 11:00 a.m on Saturday, September 21, 2024 at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Honeyford. Interment will be in St. Paul’s Cemetery.
