Karen Ann Olson (Kuzel) January 6, 1960 – June 17th, 2026

Karen Ann Olson, 66 of Grand Forks, North Dakota passed away on Wednesday, June 17, 2026 at Altru Hospital, Grand Forks, North Dakota. A family directed celebration of life will be held from 2:00 - 4:00 p.m. on Sunday, August 9, 2026, at 5813 Pinehurst Court, Grand Forks, ND 58201.

Karen was born January 6, 1960 to Bernadette and Frank Kuzel. Karen attended school in Grand Forks, went to college, worked many different jobs and finally retired from Altru Hospital in 2022. She loved to work outside in the garden, tend to her flowers and care for the dogs that ran the home. Arts and crafts were also a big part of Karen; she adored time spent with her paint brushes and paint. Her biggest passion was spending time at Lake Beltrami at her family cabin. Time outside in the sun, in and on the water swimming and fishing were truly her greatest love.

She is preceded in death by her 3 children, her Mother and Father, Brothers Wayne, Dale and Mark; her Sister Bonnie (Brouse).

She is survived by her Husband Richard Jr (Rick), Sister Debbie (Art) Bakken and many nieces and nephews.

Karen passed away peacefully Altru Hospital surrounded by the love of her family. Her ability to make everyone smile when she walked into a room, her zest for life and having fun will be missed by everyone she ever touched.
