Laverne Mae Kelly

Laverne was born on April 30, 1944, in Grand Forks to Leonard and Luella (Haugen) Larson. In December of 1975, Laverne married Duane Kelly in Grand Forks. She was previously married to Larry Schmitt. Laverne worked as a registered nurses assistant for over 20 years at nursing homes in Colorado, Nevada, Arizona, and Walsh County in North Dakota. Laverne loved gardening and enjoyed fishing and cooking. She is survived by a daughter, Jacqueline (Joey) Rodriguez of San Antonio, TX; sons, Tom (Sue) Schmitt of Mekinock, ND, Stuart Kelly of Fargo, ND; a sister, Audrey Schmitt; a brother Larry Larson, both originally from Grand Forks, now Michigan; 4 grandchildren; 2 great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Duane Kelly and her previous husband, Larry Schmitt; and a brother, Don Larson.
