Linda Sue Kloster

Linda Kloster, 75, of Grand Forks, ND, passed away Thursday, April 2, 2026, at Edgewood Memory Care in East Grand Forks.

Linda Kloster was born in Waycross, Georgia on September 28, 1950. She moved with her parents, Alvin and Hazel (Steedley) Anderson, to northern Minnesota where she grew up in Lancaster and graduated from high school. Linda attended beauty school and worked as a hairdresser for several years. On November 10, 1979, she married Fred Kloster at Immanual Lutheran Church in Buxton, ND, and they settled on the Kloster Farm where they raised their three sons: Cory, Jamie, and Nickolas. While raising their family, Linda worked as a daycare provider. She loved being with kids, family, and friends, especially during the holidays. Her home was warm, welcoming, and decorated for the seasons. She enjoyed entertaining and often planned parties with food, desserts, and Elvis’s music if there was ever a chance. As her children became adults, she worked as a home-health aide. Along with her smiles, games, and jokes, Linda generously brought home baked and garden goodies for the people in her care. ‘Grandma’ was her favorite season in life, and she often babysat and had sleepovers for her grandchildren. Flipping pancakes while singing and dancing to music in the kitchen was her favorite way to do mornings with grandkids.

Linda was preceded in death by her parents Hazel and Alvin Anderson, brother Gary Anderson, sister Kathy Levenhagen, in-laws Ray and Louise Kloster, and infant daughter Wendy.

She is survived by her husband Fred, children Cory (Amy) of East Grand Forks; Jamie (Sara) of Buxton; and Nick (Kaylee) of Denver, CO. Grandchildren: Alexa (Zane), Chloe, Kaela, Gracie, and Isaac (Cory and Amy); Caleb, Mallory, Levi, Jared, and Asher (Jamie and Sara). Great-grandchildren: Astrid, Rolek, and Oskar (Zane and Alexa). Sister-in-laws Linda Anderson of Thief River Falls, MN; Ruth Hovet of N. Fort Myers, FL; Rachel Kronmann of Palmetto, FL; Margaret Kloster of Minneapolis, MN. Brother-in-law Wade Levenhagen of Lancaster, MN; as well as several nieces and nephews.

A Funeral Service will be held at 1:00 pm at Immanuel Lutheran Church of Buxton on Friday, April 10, 2026. Visitation will take place one hour prior to the service. Burial will take place this spring at Immanuel East Cemetery.
