Loretta Gothberg, 70, Native of Grand Forks ND, passed away on May 12, 2024, at Eventide in Moorhead MN, Loretta is survived by her daughter Angie and two grandchildren Conner and Madison. Brothers Dennis, Douglas, Tom. Sisters Betty, Linda, Barbra, Beverly, Sharen. Also survived by Many adoring Nieces and Nephews

Proceeded in death by husband Robert, parents Cleo-Ted Braaten. Brothers Larry, Donny, Sisters Sonia, Judy, Vicky.

Loretta was raised by a hard-working Norwegian family who started their roots in the small town of Tolna ND. Before moving to Grand Foks when the children were all a young age. Lorreta then met the love of her life Robert Gothberg at the age 18. When Robert returned home from his service in the United States Army, they married in the year 1972. They welcomed their only child daughter Angie the same year. They raised Angie in Grand Forks surrounded by many family members and friends who frequented the family home for good times and lots of laughs.

Lorretta was a hardworking and dedicated employee to the University of North Dakota with over 20 years of service and merit award honors, to award her pride in what she did and her impact on her coworkers and students around her.

During her spare time Lorreta dedicated herself to being the best mother and grandmother you could ask for. She was more than just a grandmother to her grandchildren she had a huge impact on their upbring by her huge heart and willing involvement with her daughter and the upbringing of the grandchildren. 

Lorretta’s spare time was often spent rooting on her beloved Minnesota Vikings, spending time with her family especially her daughter and grandchildren and car rides with her Grandson Conner.

Lorretta was considered a “earth angel” by those who were fortunate enough to have her touch their life in one way or another.
