Lori Ruth Johnson, 64, of Grand Forks, North Dakota, passed away peacefully at her home on Wednesday, July 9, 2025.
Lori was born on November 17, 1960, in Grand Forks, the daughter of Kenneth and Ruth (Heider) Johnson. She was raised in McCanna, North Dakota, and graduated from Larimore High School in 1980. After graduation, Lori made her home in Grand Forks, where she dedicated much of her career to food service in the healthcare industry. She spent many years serving patients and staff at Altru Hospital and Valley Square 4000 with warmth and compassion.
Lori found true joy in being with her family. She cherished every moment spent with her parents, siblings, nieces, and nephews, and all her extended family—her heart was fullest when surrounded by loved ones. Known for her quiet kindness and gentle spirit, Lori always offered a warm hug and a listening ear to anyone in need.
Lori is survived by her mother, Ruth Johnson of Grand Forks; sisters Deb (Tom) Bakke and Patti Westrem, both of Grand Forks; brothers Mike (Jennifer) Johnson and John (Jodi) Johnson, both of McCanna, ND; and many beloved nieces, nephews, and grandnieces and grandnephews.
She was preceded in death by her father, Kenneth Johnson, and her nephew, Andrew Westrem.
A family-directed service will be held on Tuesday, July 29, 2025, at 10:30 AM at the University Lutheran Church in Grand Forks, North Dakota.
