Lynnette was born on December 24, 1953, in Grand Forks. She grew up in East Grand Forks with her five brothers. She attended Indiana University and Northern Kentucky University, receiving a bachelor's and master's degree in education respectively. While living in Indiana with her mother and pursuing her bachelor's degree, Lynnette met her lifelong friend Andrea Bellairs. Lynnette moved to the northern Kentucky area where she taught middle school for 20 years and met her husband Ronald, who she shared her life with for 36 years. They were married on July 19, 1986. A few years into their marriage, Ronald and Lynnette adopted their son Alexander Walton. Later in life, Lynnette had to retire from her role as an educator for health reasons, but this never stopped her from being an active member of her community. She was a coach for Sunflake Soccer, where she led her team to be undefeated for two years in a row. She devoted many years of her life to the Salvation Army, and each year volunteered her time to the Grand Forks Artfest. Lynnette enjoyed working in her garden and loved music. She was a gifted artist, and loved sewing, ceramics, and drawing. While she was physically able to do so, she spent a great deal of time with these activities. Lynnette is preceded in death by her parents, as well as her brother Raymond and Butch Mortrud. She is survived by her brothers Curtice, James, and Jon as well as her husband Ronald Creutz and son Alexander Walton and his fiance Janessa Joy, and her lifelong friend Andrea Bellairs.
