Margaret Martha Szepelak died May 29, 2026, at Valley Senior Living on 42nd in Grand Forks.
Margaret was born in Crookston, Minnesota, on March 18, 1942, to Otto and Martha (Adams) Keller. She moved with her family to a farm west of Thompson, North Dakota in 1946. In 1960, she graduated from Thompson High School, with a graduating class of 5 people. She spoke fondly of her Grandpa and Grandma Adams, especially enjoying Kuchan at their house after Christmas church services.
Margaret married Ed Szepelak on March 6, 1992. Ed died on October 11, 1994.
Her passion was doing a good job of farming. If a job was worth doing, it was worth spending the time to do it right. She took pride in her farmyard and buildings. She spent hours mowing grass with her JD911. Her favorite tractor was the JD8760. Margaret and her dog Teddy must have put 10,000 hours on it.
All her life she had a soft spot for animals, especially dogs and cats, but also for goats, horses, ducks, geese, peacocks, and a pet steer named Happy. She loved the routine of feeding cattle and working with the calves. She also loved babies and buying baby gifts.
Margaret is survived by her niece Rosalie (David) Harmon. Her beloved dog, Mister, numerous Keller and Adams cousins and families; friends: Mike and Rhonda Shirek, and Lynn and Diane Lindseth and families.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Ed, brother James, and furry friend Teddy. Margaret was the last surviving member of her Keller immediate family.
