Mark Allen Anderson, age 71, of Forest River, ND passed away on Saturday, March 28, 2026. He was born July 19, 1954, in LaPorte, IN.

Mark attended Midway High School and the gifted program at The University of North Dakota. He was an exceptionally talented carpenter, creating exquisite cabinets and other furniture that graced hundreds, if not thousands, of homes. He was self-employed through his business, Showplace Cabinets.

He met the love of his life, Gwendolyn Anderson, in June of 1995. Together, they attended many Sioux hockey games and enjoyed watching The Vikings on television every football season. They resided at “the farm" near Forest River.

Mark was a wonderful father to one daughter, Jessalyn (Anderson) Muraco. They often talked about hockey and what his beloved grandsons were up to. He loved working on the farm and gardening. He was a family man, who enjoyed spending time with his and Gwen’s children and grandchildren.

Mark is survived by his love, Gwendolyn Anderson; daughter Jessalyn (Mark) Muraco; his siblings: Paul (Kim) Anderson, David (Becky) Anderson, Mary Wicklund, Lynn (James) Short, Marshall (Crystal) Anderson, Brenda (Tim) Hoverson, Connie (Brian) Whyte; eight grandchildren; two great grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; Naomi and Francis; father, James; sister, Lee; nephew, Jeffrey and Gwen’s daughter, Jamie.

A Memorial Service will be held at 1:00PM at Amundson Funeral Home on Thursday, April 23, 2026. Visitation will take place one hour prior to the service.
