Marlys L. Rosholt, 95 of Grand Forks, North Dakota died Saturday, August 12, 2023, at Maple View Memory Care, Grand Forks, North Dakota.

Marlys was born on July 17, 1928, the daughter of George and Elvina (Johnson) Kling in Dodge, North Dakota. She was raised in Finley, North Dakota until the age of fifteen when her family moved to Cando, North Dakota. Marlys graduated from Cando High School in 1946. She then went on to attend Teacher’s College in Minot.

While working at her father’s hardware store during the summer, Marlys met her future husband, Melvin Rosholt. They shared seventy-one years together and raised two daughters. 

Marlys's last job before retiring was working as the secretary to Everett Knudsvig for twenty years at Red River High School in Grand Forks. She enjoyed painting on canvas and spending time at their lake place. 

Marlys survived by her daughters, Judy Hams of Grand Forks, ND; Cindy (Bill) Maisey of Peachtree City, GA; three grandchildren, Melissa (Duranta Gordon) Hendry, Sarah Maisey and Chris Maisey; three great-grandchildren, Kingsley Fritcher, Talasia Hendry Robinson and Quantae Henry; numerous nieces and nephews.

Marlys was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Melvin; sons-in-law, Jim Hendry and Mitch Hams; siblings, Iris McGinley and Yvonne Isaacson.

In lieu of flowers memorials may be given to United Lutheran Church (324 Chestnut St. Grand Forks, ND 58201).

Visitation will be held from 10:00 - 11:00 a.m. Friday, August 18, 2023, at Amundson Funeral Home. Funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, August 18, 2023, at Amundson Funeral Home. Interment will be held at Memorial Park South, Grand Forks, North Dakota.
