Marvin Alan Sondrol, 78, passed away on September 23, 2026. He was born September 7, 1948, to Alvin and Mary Sondrol. Marvin grew up on a farm near Reynolds and graduated from Central Valley in 1967.

Marvin married Christine on November 23, 1990, at Rosendahl Church. Together they shared many years and memories. Marvin spent 33 years working as a mechanic at American Crystal Sugar, beginning September 8, 1978, and retiring September 8, 2011.

Marvin loved to have fun and make people laugh. He rarely took life too seriously and could usually find a reason to tell a story or share a joke. He enjoyed riding his motorcycle, fishing, and hunting. Marvin was proud of his Norwegian roots and especially enjoyed the traditional food—lutefisk being a favorite.

Marvin was preceded in death by his parents, Alvin and Mary Sondrol; his brother, Clifford Sondrol; and his wife, Christine (Haynes) Sondrol.

He is survived by his brother, Stephen (Betty) Sondrol; his children, Alan Sondrol, Asle (Chelsy) Sondrol, Darla (Robbie) Gage, Paula (Joel) Ricke, and Emma Sondrol; and his grandchildren, Melody (Matthew) Sebald, Kaysha, Jaxon, Taylor, Aldin, Cedric, and Rayna. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

Marvin leaves behind many good memories and plenty of stories worth retelling. He will be deeply missed by his family, friends, and all those who had the pleasure of knowing him.

A service to remember and celebrate Marvin's life will be held Saturday, September 26, 2026, at 3:00pm at the Reynolds Lutheran Church (503 6th Ave, Reynolds, ND 58275). Visitation with the family will be held an hour prior to the service, starting at 2:00pm.
