Orpha Lorraine (Foss) Lieberg, age 86 of Larimore, North Dakota passed away peacefully on Friday, August 28, 2026, at Larimore Good Samaritan Society surrounded by family.

Orpha was born on March 22, 1940, to Conrad and Florence (Groven) Foss in Northwood, North Dakota. She was baptized at Washington Lutheran Church, rural Northwood. Orpha attended various country schools through the 8th grade in rural Kempton before continuing her education at Larimore High School, graduating in 1958.

Orpha married Alden Lieberg on January 19, 1958. Alden and Orpha made their home in Arvilla, North Dakota. Orpha was very involved in the Arvilla Community Club, Blooming Homemakers, Our Savior’s Lutheran Church Circle, Whipstitcher Quilter’s Club and Good Samaritan Society Auxiliary.

Orpha was a 4-H Leader for all five of her girls for many years. She also served as the Grand Forks County Homemakers President, a member for more than fifty years. Orpha enjoyed playing cards, quilting, canning, gardening, rosemaling, baking, bird watching, traveling with her family and gatherings with her friends and family. One thing you could count on is that Orpha would always have the coffee pot on.

Orpha had many jobs throughout her life, but the one she enjoyed the most, was being a devoted wife and a mother to her 5 girls.

Orpha is survived by her loving husband of 68 years, Alden Lieberg; her daughters, Kim (Kevin) Nelson, Karen (Don) Salwey, Kristi Williamson (Dave Ness), Kathy (Dan) Moser, Karla (Jason) Middlestead; thirteen grandchildren and twenty-six great grandchildren.

Orpha was preceded in death by an infant son, parents, Conrad and Florence Foss, infant sister, Mildred, father-in-law and mother-in-law, Art and Mary Lieberg.

Visitation will be held from 5:00 - 7:00 p.m. Wednesday, September 2, 2026, at Our Savior's Lutheran Church, Larimore, North Dakota with a prayer service at 7:00 p.m. Memorial service will be at 2:00 p.m. Thursday, September 3, 2026, at Our Savior's Lutheran Church, Larimore, North Dakota
