Pamela Ann Erickson passed away on Thursday, September 25, 2025, in Grand Forks, after a courageous battle with cancer. Her last moments were filled with love & gratitude, surrounded by her family.
Pamela Ann Winger was born October 24, 1954, to Milton & Marjorie Winger in Grand Forks, ND, where she was raised with her brother Tom. Pam went to Viking Elementary, Schroeder Jr. and eventually graduated from Grand Forks Red River. In those early years Pam was a bright student & played clarinet in the school band. Shortly after high school, Pam married the love of her life, Kim Erickson. They would soon welcome their first and only child, Christopher, into the world. After several years of continued education & work in Wahpeton, Moorhead and then Fargo, Pam & Kim would make their life's home back in Grand Forks, where so much of their family resided. Pam quickly earned her realtors & appraiser's license after returning to Grand Forks, but her professional calling came when she moved into retail, working at the Dayton's Dept. Store where she thrived. She would become a dept. manager. and eventually would become the store’s visual manager, creating many of the beautiful seasonal displays. Her talent for colors, style and design would take her into the world of interior design where worked as an interior decorator until she retired.
As a child, some of Pam's fondest memories were the car trips she took across country with her brother and parents as well as the summertime she spent waterskiing at Maple Lake with her friend Amy. Pam also developed an early love for kittens that would last her whole life. Pam was an amazing mother. She loved watching her son Chris play sports as a youth & music as an adult. Rarely missing an event. She was his biggest cheerleader. Pam and Kim loved home renovation and over the years renovated many homes including their own. She was a natural at decorating and could hold her own with a hammer. Their beautiful home on Belmont Road became the meeting place for so many family events over the years. Pam was a fantastic cook and a great host. The highlight of her hosting was Christmas, where the decorations & tree belonged in a store's display window in New York City. Pam also loved hosting brunch nearly every Sunday morning for family and friends.
Later in life Pam & Kim received a precious gift in the form of a grandchild. This may have been Pam's greatest joy in life, as she and Henry have a bond that can never be broken. She adored him and loved watching him grow. Pam fiercely loved her family, and they knew it. She will be missed forever
