Patricia L. Larsen

Patricia “Pat” L. Larsen, 82, Grand Forks, ND, passed away Saturday, May 10, 2025 at her home surrounded by her family after a courageous 3 year battle with cancer.

Patricia Louise Schultz was born February 15, 1943 in Ardoch, ND, the daughter of John and Marie (Lang) Schultz. She was raised and educated in Minto and in Grand Forks where she graduated from St. James High School in 1961.

Pat met Donald Larsen the summer of 1960 on a blind date. They married on September 9, 1961 in Grand Forks. October 15,1961 Don received his draft notice and went to basic training. They were stationed in California and Wiesbaden Germany. November 1962 Pat & Don returned to Grand Forks. They purchased C&R Cleaners and Laundry, where Don had worked prior to going into the service. Pat joined the family business and devoted herself to raising her children.

Pat was the epitome of a wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother. She could always find the good in people. Anyone lucky enough to know her loved her. Upon retiring from C&R, Pat took up oil painting & china painting as a hobby. She was an exceptional artist, creating many beautiful keepsakes for her family and friends. She enjoyed cooking, baking, gardening, gathering with her friends, especially the Friday lunch group and most importantly, her family was everything to her, and she was everything to her family.

Survivors include her loving husband, Don of 63 years, Grand Forks; children, Sandra (Michael) Butkowski, Grand Forks, Jon (Marnie) Larsen, Grand Forks, and Scott (Jen) Larsen, Oswego, IL; grandchildren, Christopher (Rebecca) Butkowski, Andrew Butkowski, Anne Butkowski, Ellen Larsen, Riley Larsen, Alexa Larsen, and Ashlyn Larsen; twin great granddaughters, Rhyan and Elliett Butkowski; siblings, Paul (Marion) Schultz, Crookston, MN, and Leonette Taussig, Miami, FL; Cousin Dennis Schultz, Manvel, ND, brother-in-law, Dennis Larsen, Crookston, MN ; sister-in-law, Eunice Larsen, Janesville, WI; cousin-in-law Janet Kuhl, Grand Forks and numerous nieces and nephews.

Pat was preceded in death by her siblings, William Schiltz, Sylvia Norlin, and Beverly Bjerke; a granddaughter, Grace Abigail Larsen; and in-laws, Agnes and Charles Larsen, Katherine Balsen and Gerald Larsen.

A memorial service will be held 11:00 AM Saturday, May 17, 2025 at Calvary Lutheran Church of Grand Forks. Visitation will be for the hour before the service in the church. Burial will be in Memorial Park North Cemetery, Grand Forks. Arrangements are with Amundson Funeral and Cremation Service, Grand Forks.
