Patricia Anne Pyle, 96, Grand Forks, ND, passed away Thursday, December 9, 2021 at Valley Senior Living on 42nd.

Pat was born August 15, 1925 in Charles City, IA. Daughter of W.G. Joor and Gladys Bixby Joor. Graduated from Maxwell High School, Maxwell, IA 1943. After a failed elopement attempt and waiting for his return from the Coast Guard in World War II, married her high school sweetheart, Jessie Loyd Pyle, Feb 1946. Graduated from Iowa Methodist School of Nursing Dec 1946. Practiced nursing at Iowa Methodist Hospital, Des Moines, IA and Mary Greeley Hospital, Ames, IA before moving to North Dakota in 1948.

Practiced nursing in Mandan, Minot and moved to Dickinson, ND in 1953 where she was a nursing program Adjunct Instructor at Dickinson College and Nursing Supervisor at St. Lukes Nursing Home. Moved to Grand Forks, ND 1972.

Honored for 50+ years of active service and leadership in both PEO and Eastern Star.  Active member of First Congregational Church, Dickinson and First Presbyterian Church, Grand Forks.  Active in Republican Women, serving as delegate to the state Republican Convention. One of the first women board members at Grand Forks Golf & Country Club. Supported her husband's dairy industry/community service organizations. Served "meals on wheels" for many years.  And was actively involved in all of her children's activities. She was always there for her family.

Retired to sunny Highland Lakes, Leesburg, FL (1995) then John Knox Village, Orange City, FL (2008). Loved golf, even tried her hand at tennis! Upon the death of Loyd, her husband of 69 years, in October 2015 she moved back to Grand Forks, ND to be near family. She resided at Valley Senior Living to whom she, and her family, are so grateful to a staff who gave her not only skilled but warmhearted care in her last years.

Every move left life-long friendships. Pat loved people and people loved her.

Preceded by Mother, Father, Sister, Frances Joor Bell, and Husband. Surviving family Brother, William Joor; 4 children Susan Brown (Larry), Michael Pyle (Cathy), Patricia Berger, Daniel Pyle (Maureen). 11 Grandchildren and 21 Great Grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held 3pm on February 3, 2022 at Amundson Funeral Home, 2975 S 42nd St, Grand Forks, ND. Pre-service visitation is at 2pm. After the ceremony, Amundson Funeral Home will post a video of the service on their website. https://www.amundsonfuneralhome.com.
