Randolph Carl Sott, age 81, of Grand Forks, North Dakota passed away May 28, 2026, at Altru Hospital in Grand Forks, North Dakota.

Randy was born on July 28, 1944, to Carl & Dorothy (Shannon) Sott. He grew up on a farm near Hensel, North Dakota and graduated from Cavalier High School and Aakers Business College in Grand Forks.

On March 12, 1965, he was united in marriage to Lois Jean Quam at Mountain Lutheran Church. They lived all their married life in Grand Forks, North Dakota where they raised two daughters.

He was in the Army Reserves for six years. Worked at the Pillsbury Plant in Grand Forks as an accountant, Grand Forks Diesel Services and Quest Diagnostics until his retirement.

Randy was preceded in death by his parents, brother Duaine Sott and in-laws Violet and Norval Quam. He is survived by his wife, Lois, daughters Wendi Jean Sott, (Bret Reichenbach) of Minneapolis and Kristi Lynn Sott, Grand Forks. granddaughters Makenzie (Jonathan) Wardell and Katie Jo Torgerson (Owen Reding, fiancé). Great Grandsons, Jackson & Cooper Wardell. His sisters, Carlene Bentley in Georgia and Linda Hannah (Grant), Fargo. One brother, Herman Sott (Gwen), Cavalier, ND. Nieces & Nephew. Lifelong friends Al Nieuwsma and Sheldon Braget.

He was a very proud and dedicated lifetime member of the American Legion, NRA and Sharon Lutheran Church.

His passions throughout life included hunting, collecting guns, driving his Cadillac, attending classic car shows with friends and family, detailing cars, work and his family. He had a very special relationship with Jackson & Cooper.

Funeral Service will be held Tuesday, June 2, 2026 at 2:00 p.m. at Amundson Funeral Home.Visitation will be held 1 hour prior to the start of the service.Burial will be held Wednesday, June 3, 2026 at 11:00 in Cavalier Cemetery, Cavalier, ND.
