Rhonda Marie Fuller, 59, passed away on August 14, 2025, after a courageous year-long battle with cancer.

Born in Maddock, ND, on April 23, 1966, to Ron and Ella Fuller, Rhonda grew up in Hillsboro and Esmond, ND, where she attended school and competed in track and field. She cherished her small-town upbringing and carried with her countless fond memories from those early years.

Rhonda experienced profound loss throughout her life, losing her brother Rudy at a young age, followed by her mother, brother Brent, sister Scarlet, and father. As the last surviving member of her immediate family, she faced life with remarkable gratitude, strength, and resilience.

Rhonda held many jobs throughout her life, including waitressing at the Bronze Boot, working events at the Alerus Center, the Ralph Engelstad Arena and helping at the Purpur Arena. But her true passion was running her own daycare. Over the years, countless children touched her life, just as she touched theirs. Each one was special to her, and she lovingly referred to them as “her babies.”

Rhonda was kind, helpful, stubborn, fun, selfless, loving—and delightfully spicy. She would do anything for anyone, from donating crocheted hats to Manvel School and volunteering at the Salvation Army to help families through times of loss. Her “spicy” side meant she always told it like it was. Her children often joked she should have been a police officer—nothing got past her. Despite her firm hand, her home (“Honda’s place”) was a welcoming hangout for her children’s friends, whom she treated like her own.

Rhonda met Tim when they were just 16 years old, and the two quickly fell in love. They built their life together in Grand Forks, where they raised three beautiful children. Rhonda was a devoted supporter at her boys’ hockey games and took immense pride in Mandy’s academic achievements.

A creative spirit, Rhonda loved starting new projects—whether making baby bibs, crocheting hats, crafting salsa, dehydrating apples, creating Sioux ornaments, doing beadwork, or finding new “projects” for Tim to tackle (including remodeling the kitchen—twice). She was famous for her holiday baking, especially her pumpkin rolls, and she made every holiday feel like home, going above and beyond to ensure everyone felt loved.

The greatest joy of Rhonda’s life was her grandchildren. They were her light, her laughter, and the reason she fought so hard during her battle with cancer. From the moment they entered the world, they gave her a renewed purpose.

In her final years, Rhonda also found comfort in her beloved dog, Zoey, who rarely left her side and offered unconditional companionship through her illness.

Rhonda is survived by her husband, Tim; children, Brandon (Kylee); Amanda and Derek; grandchildren, Landon, Karter, Rylan, and Landry. She is also survived by nieces, Crystal (Nate) and Cassie.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Ronald and Ella; brothers, Rudy and Brent; sister, Scarlet; nephews, Zachary and Josh; and many beloved aunts, uncles, and cousins.

Rhonda’s warmth, generosity, and spirited personality will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.

Visitation will be held from 5:00 - 7:00 p.m. Thursday, August 21, 2025, at Amundson Funeral Home followed by the Celebration of Life service at 7:00 p.m. Please check back for full obituary.
