Richard "Ricky" H. Wright

Richard “Ricky” Wright, age 46, of Grand Forks, died Thursday, May 15, 2025, at the Altru Hospital in Grand Forks, North Dakota.

Visitation will be held 5:00 - 7:00 p.m. Thursday, May 22, 2025, at the Amundson Funeral Home Chapel, and will continue 1:00 p.m. Friday, May 23, 2025, at Amundson Funeral Home Chapel. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Friday, May 23, 2025, at the Amundson Funeral Home Chapel in Grand Forks, North Dakota.

Richard Howard Wright was born January 12, 1979, in Grand Forks, North Dakota to Richard "Dick" and Sheila (Olson) Wright. Ricky graduated from Central High School in 1997. He began his working career delivering pizzas for Italian Moon; eventually, he worked his way up to the kitchen, where he was a chef for over 20 years.

Ricky was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed fishing and hunting, and spending time with his family at their cabin near Bemidji, Minnesota. You could find him sitting by the campfire at all hours of the night or rough-housing and creating a secret handshake with his nephews. Ricky was always looking forward to spending time with his family and snowmobiling or mini-bike trips with his brother. Ricky’s unwavering support and unconditional love were hallmarks of his character; he was always there to lend a helping hand, no matter the hour.

Ricky is survived by his father, Dick Wright; mother, Sheila Wright; brother, Andy (Racheal) Wright; nephews, Bekkett and Sawyer; and many aunts, uncles, cousins, and other family and friends. He was preceded in death by his sister, Bekki; and grandparents, Reuben and Anna Olson, and Howard and Dorothy Wright.
