Robert Gene Dohman Jr.

Robert Gene Dohman Jr., born on July 25, 1955, in Lynnwood, California, passed away unexpectedly on March 12, 2026, at Altru Hospital.

A proud graduate of Sacred Heart High School’s Class of 1973, Robert devoted many years of his working life to over-the-road trucking. His passion for driving took him coast to coast throughout his career with Wylie's Trucking. His commitment and skill behind the wheel were well recognized. Later, he transitioned to a role with Opp Construction, where he eventually retired from truck driving. Robert’s career reflected not only his love for the open road but also his dependable nature and strong work ethic.

Family and friends remember Robert for his warm spirit and his simple joys. He cherished time spent fishing, playing cards with his best friend Gale Delude, taking trips to the Seven Clan’s Casino, and watching baseball games from the comfort of his home. His hobbies brought him happiness and that enriched his life. Robert will be remembered with love and fondness by those who knew him, who will miss his steady presence and gentle nature. His journey has left lasting impressions on all who had the privilege of knowing him, and his memory will be honored and cherished by many.

Robert is survived by his siblings: Kathy Crows Heart of Carthage, NY, Mike Dohman of Norwich, ND, Barbara Dohman of Grand Forks, ND, Steven Dohman of Grand Forks, ND and Kim (Shawn) Dockter of Norwich, ND; nieces and nephews: Denice Crows Heart of Carthage, NY, Rylan Dohman of East Grand Forks, MN, Rachel (Derek) Nelson of Grand Forks, ND, Chelsea (Tanner) Baumann of Reynolds, ND, Cody (Jackie) Holz of Hindas, Sweden and Zach Dockter of Norwich, ND; great-nieces and nephews: Henry Nelson, Elise Nelson, Kannan Baumann, Ozzy Baumann and Silas Baumann; sister in law, Michelle Dohman of East Grand Forks, MN and best friend, Gale (Julie) Delude of Oklee, MN.

A visitation will be held on March 23, 2026, from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. at the Amundson Funeral Home, located at 2975 S. 42nd St, Grand Forks, ND 58208. Following the visitation, a memorial service will take place at 11:00 a.m. Burial will take place at a later date at Calvary Cemetery in Langdon, ND.
