Ronald Benedict Delorme Jr.

Ronald B. Delorme, Jr., Wic'anhpi Kuwa (Chasing Star), age 57 of Isanti, MN, passed peacefully away on Tuesday, February 24, 2026, with his loving family at his side. He will find his way to the star nation, he walked this earth with a good heart “cante waste yuha maka akan mani”.

Ron was born on October 26, 1968, in Devils Lake, ND to Ronald Delorme. Sr. and Vivian Lohnes. Ron Jr was a gentle soul who worked hard his entire life. He was a proud and devoted father, and his greatest joy and best friend was his son, Cole. Ron’s smile and laughter could light up any room. Ron Jr. enjoyed many things, he loved being around family and friends, fishing, hunting, working on vehicles, fixing things around the house, and enjoyed operating heavy equipment. As a heavy equipment operator, he took great pride in his work and was truly the best at excavating. He built more than foundations, he built respect, friendships, and a legacy of hard work. Ron graduated High School in 1987 and went on and joined the ND Army National Guard. Ron moved to the Lake Region area and later moved to Grand Forks, ND where he lived for many years. In 2017 Ron sold his home and trailed on to MN to be closer to his son Cole. Ron was blessed with two beautiful children, Felicia and Cole. He was also a proud Grandpa of the cutest little girl named Harlow. Ron Jr. was a believer in the Lord and prayed the Rosary; he spent many nights on his knees praying with his brother Tony and grandparents. His faith was a constant source of strength.

He is survived by his wife: Sheila (Dionne) Delorme of Isanti, MN; Son: Cole (Lexi) Delorme of Isanti, MN; Granddaughter: Harlow Delorme of Isanti, MN; Father: Ronald Delorme, Sr. of Belcourt, ND; Brothers: Anthony (Elaine) Delorme of Maddock, ND, Keith (Sherri) Delorme of Belcourt, ND, Kenneth (Tina) Delorme of Grand Forks, ND, and Jesse McKay III of St. Michael, ND; Many uncles, aunts, nieces, nephews, and cousins.

He was preceded in death by his Daughter: Felicia Ann Delorme; Mother: Vivian (Dolly) Lohnes; Sister: Francine Delorme-Greene; Step-mom: Teresa Delorme; Step-sister: Kristin Bruce; Paternal Grandparents Jane & Louis Delorme and Maternal Grandparents: Anthony & Mary Lohnes. And many more relatives that he loved dearly.

A funeral Mass of Christian Burial will be held Saturday March 14, 2026, at 1:00pm at St. Michael's Catholic Church in Grand Forks, ND. Visitation with the family will be held the evening prior, Friday March 13, 2026, from 4:00pm-7:00pm with a Prayer Service at 7:00pm at Amundson Funeral Home in Grand Forks, ND. Interment will take place in the spring at Calvary Catholic Cemetery in Grand Forks, ND.
