Rosalie “Rosie” Camille Branaman was born on March 19, 1941, in Larimore, North Dakota, to Chester Branaman and Thelma Benden. Although she moved around during her childhood, Rosie made her home in Grand Forks, North Dakota in 1978, where she remained for the rest of her life.
Rosie was a devoted Catholic who rarely missed Mass. Her faith was a central part of her life and brought her great comfort and joy. She took pride in caring for herself, always enjoying having her hair and nails done, and she deeply valued visits from her friends and loved ones. Rosie was known for openly expressing her love to those around her.
Rosie cherished the time she spent with her close friends, Harold Earl Shaver and Deb Wiseman. Together they attended church, watched Westerns, browsed thrift stores, and enjoyed coffee outings. These friendships were a meaningful and joyful part of her life.
She also found happiness in simple pleasures, including caring for her beloved parakeet and watching birds. In her later years, Rosie resided at Valley Elder Care, where she often shared how much she loved living there. She was surrounded by compassionate staff and friends who cared for her deeply. Throughout her life, she was supported by REM and the many individuals who helped enrich her days.
Rosie was preceded in death by her brother Robert Hulst and her best friend, Deb Wiseman.
She will be remembered for her warm heart, spunky personality, her strong faith, and the love she shared so freely with others.
